New Google voice search for iPhone

So if you haven’t seen it yet, check out the new voice search feature in the Google app for iPhone/iPod Touch.

It is pretty amazing. It allows you to search anything on Google using your voice. To top it off, it’s location aware so a command of “find pizza” will show you all the pizza places nearby.

I have played with it and find that it’s accuracy is pretty good, only had to repeat myself once on “find Chinese food.”

I have also heard that there are developers working on software that will provide information to you based on a picture you take with the iPhone. So for example, you may be at the store and take a picture of a CD. This will link to a back end database that will provide you reviews, pricing, and other info about the CD instead of having to manually type and search for the data yourself.

I’ve heard about these kind of apps and they are totally cool! I haven’t yet download one as I’m waiting to see what I think would work best for me. Still loving Spore right now. 😉
